Madrid, May 14th, 2025. A team from IMDEA Nanociencia’s Projects Office represented the institution at the EARMA-INORMS 2025 Congress, held at the Municipal Convention Center IFEMA in Madrid from 6-8th May. The group contributed to the global conversation on research support and administration by presenting two posters highlighting innovative practices and strategic developments in research management.
The EARMA-INORMS Congress is a joint event of the International Network of Research Management Societies (INORMS) hosted by the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA). The congress brought together 2.200 professionals from around the world to exchange best practices, foster international collaboration, and advance the field of research management. This year, the conference covered topics such as building better research management services, open science, responsible use of artificial intelligence and ethics and EDI in research management.
IMDEA Nanociencia’s participation underscores its commitment to excellence in research management. The two posters presented by the team focused on “Supporting scholar dissemination with an institutional repository for research outputs in the fields of Chemistry, Physics and Biology: challenges and opportunities”, presented by Laura Lorente and Elena Alonso; and “A research institute’s journey towards Equality, Diversity and Inclusion through its Research Support Office”, presented by Patricia López and Laura Ortega. These contributions reflect the institution's ongoing investment in the professionalization of research services and the enhancement of its research ecosystem.
Research managers and administrators are the backbone of a high-functioning research environment. They support grant acquisition, ensure regulatory compliance, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and help institutions maximize the impact of their research. Their contributions are essential in navigating increasingly complex research landscapes and ensuring that institutions remain competitive on the global stage.
