We are seeking highly motivated and talented candidate for a 24-month Technician position in the development of liquid-walled pumps for ECMO (ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) therapy applications. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Hermans and in close collaboration with clinicians from UCIP-GM (Gregorio Marañón University Hospital, Madrid). The position is part of the LW-ECMO – Liquid-walled circuits for anticoagulant-free extracorporeal membrane oxygenation project, funded by La Caixa Health 2024. The project involves the development and prototyping of next-generation low-shear blood pumps for ECMO applications


Contract: 24 months

PhD Position - SUPRABOT – Swarming Supramolecular Robots

We offer a three-year (optionally four-year) full-time PhD position in the framework of the ERC Consolidator Grant project “Swarming supramolecular robots” (Suprabot; proposal number 101087514). The project aims to develop fully synthetic, micron-sized supramolecular robots whose chemically or light-driven activation and deactivation can generate collective behavior. The PhD project will investigate how interactions between many suprabots give rise to self-organization, including swarm structuring and collective motion, using experimental physical chemistry, microfluidics, microscopy and quantitative analysis.
