Allan Johnson, researcher at IMDEA Nanociencia and leader of the “Ultrafast Quantum Materials Science” group, has received the Young Researcher Prize in Experimental Physics by the Royal Spanish Physics Society and the BBVA Foundation in a ceremony held on the 4th December at the Royal Academy of Sciences (Madrid).

The jury highlighted his experimental work in ultrafast physics. The prize recognises Johnson's innovative contributions to attosecond pulse generation technology and the application of ultrafast science to the study of complex materials were recognised. 

Since 2007, the Royal Spanish Physics Society-BBVA Foundation Physics Awards have recognised creativity, effort and achievement in the field of physics with the aim of encouraging professionals working in research, secondary and university education, innovation, technology and dissemination.
